Hi everyone, Larissa here today to share with you this Butterfly Fairy Canvas I created. This month the Creative Team is doing a cross-promotion with Rita Barakat Designs and Ann Butler Designs.
For this canvas piece, I used the Sweet Sisters heart Stencil from Rita Barakat Designs, along with a mixture of ColoriQue inks and Ann Butler Crafter’s inks to paint my image. I traced the stencil image and added the shoulders and wings to make it my own. This stencil made it so easy and fun to create my own canvas.
One of the things I enjoy the most about ColoriQue Inks, is how well they mix together which allows you to create any color you need. You’re able to add water to them, to create more of a wash and I love that look for canvas pieces where you want some of the patterned paper to show through.
For this project, I mixed Poppy, Snow Summit, Black Diamond, and Honey Bee to make the brown for the fairy’s hair. For her skin color I mixed Honey Bee, Poppy and Snow Summit. Pink Ice and Snow Summit were mixed for the blush. For the shirt, I used Grape Vine & Wisteria and then added the shading using Ann Butler’s Lilac ink.
ColoriQue Verdigris was used her beautiful eyes. The wings were stamped with Ann Butler’s Aguamarine ink and then I used Turquoise Mountain and Verdigris ColoriQue inks to color the metal butterfly wing pieces. Pink Ice and Snow Summit were used for the Butterfly Barrett. Ruby Slippers, Pink Ice and Snow Summit ColoriQue on the Background and Ann Butler’s Berry and Aguamarine inks to finish off the Canvas.
